Boo Radley Entry 1: Today I was sitting by my window looking up at the Finch's house watching Scout, Jem, and Dill. I know all of these kids because my bossy brother, Nathan, told me their names when I asked him, but he said that I wasn't supposed to watch them or try and talk to them. I was watching the kids when all of the sudden Jem got out an old tire and Scout got into it. He rolled her down the street as hard as he could and I felt sad for her because her brother was being mean to her. Rolling his sister down a tire wasn't a very nice thing to do. But as she rolled down the street and into my front lawn I couldn't help but let out a little laughter. Scout looked like she was about to fall over. I kept on laughing for about one or two minutes and when I looked up the window again I saw that the kids had left. I was sad and lonely again. Entry 2: One night as I was sleeping, I heard a gunshot from downstairs so I ran downstairs to find my brother sweating profusely in his nightgown holding a shotgun. I asked him what happened, but he didn't answer me and told me to go back to sleep. But when my brother left to go outside the house to tell the neighbors what had happened I walked to the fence in the backyard to see if I could find any trace of evidence about what my brother was shooting at when I found a pair of pants. They were all torn up though so I decided I would try to sew them quick before the person who lost them came back. I was never taught how to sew so I gave it my best effort but when I looked at it far away the sewing was done all backwards. It was getting to be around two o'clock in the morning and Nathan would probably return soon so I decided to go back to bed. Entry 3: It was October and it was near Halloween time. I overheard Nathan say that there was going to be a Halloween party at the school. My plan was that I was going to watch the streets to make sure that nothing bad was going to happen. When the night came I sat by the window and watched as parents drove their kids to the party. Nathan had left the house to go to the party too. I saw that Scout and Jem were walking to the party without their dad or their aunt so I was concerned. But I thought I didn't have to worry too much about people trying to hurt Jem and Scout because I thought that everyone liked their dad. I kept on watching them and then a kid comes out of nowhere and scares them. It put on edge but I decided not to get too worked up about it because it was probably just a joke. As the kids went to the party, I decided to take a little nap until they came out of the school because there wasn't anything else to do. I woke up before the kids the party was over so I decided to go out of the house and go for a little walk. It was pitch black outside but my eyes had gotten use to the dark so I could see for about three feet in front of me. While I was walking I saw the kids leave the school and I was about to go back into the house when I saw a figure about four feet behind them. I was sure that the kids were in danger so I started walking towards them to try and warn them. They probably heard me and they started to run. I ran after them and so did the figure behind them. The figure got to them first and was beating up one of them before I got there. I tackled the figure and tried to grab the knife that he was holding in his hands. Instead he thrust the knife into himself and I saw that it was Mr. Ewell. I tried to help Jem up but he pushed my hand away and tried to get up. He didn't get far before he fell to the ground. I picked him up and led Scout to their house and laded Jem on his bed. Scout led me back to my house and I knew that I had gained two new friends.
